The Catalan Country Apartments are located in a renovated farmhouse, one of the oldest in the region. In 2014, the building was fully restored and renovated by the owners, who wanted to create a more sustainable option for tourists without losing the charm and traditional structure of the original property. The old farmhouse was renovated following bioclimatic criteria to reduce energy consumption. The facilities have low power consumption, and there is a geothermal pump on site.
The property features 11 apartments (5 that are family-friendly, and 6 for couples) all of which are decorated stylishy, with great attention to detail. They each have a kitchen, with a fridge, induction stove and microwave (they do not have ovens).
The vast grounds include a pool with sun loungers and a playground, as well as a shared BBQ area for all guests to use. There is also an herb garden.

The Area
The Catalan Country Apartments are located in Anoia County, just a few kilometres south of the city of Igualada, in Barcelona Province. Anoia is known as “the land of castles”, for its rich cultural heritage and many medieval castles and towers, some of which date back to the mid 10th century. The region is also known for its gorgeous landscapes, with plenty of hiking and biking trails that lead to beautiful natural pools and waterfalls. There are also many small towns to visit, such as Calaf and Montserrat, where you can try the local cuisine – a combination of inland and coastal dishes. Traditional regional products include dry-cured sausages (fuet, llonganissa) white and black pudding, honey, cheese and curds.
