This beautiful resort combines gorgeous natural scenery – including a private beach and lush botanical gardens – with bright, sleek design. The hotel is known for its eco-friendly values, including organic farming, and is committed to sustainable hospitality.

Beautiful Mediterranean gardens surround the hotel and it has three swimming pools (including a splash pool for kids). Its four restaurants offer various Mediterranean fares, from traditional Cretan dishes to authentic Italian fare. The hotel also has more casual buffet-style options at its main restaurant. The traditional Greek coffee shop or the lobby bar are great spots to grab a drink, and the ice cream stand is equipped to satisfy any sweet tooth.

The Little Explorers Kids' Club is a great space for children aged 3 to 10 to play and explore, with activities that include cooking and baking workshops, dance and theatre performances, learning about Crete’s plants in the small organic garden and climbing on the outdoor playground. It runs 7 days a week (except Saturdays) from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. There’s also a separate quiet space for kids and teenagers to read and relax on hot Cretan afternoons. For teenagers, The Place is the hotel’s chill area away from the world, with a large water tub, hammocks, table tennis, billiards, and outdoor movie screenings in the evenings.

The Area

The resort is located on the edge of Malia, a town on Crete’s northeast coast. With a beautiful beach set against a backdrop of rugged mountains, Malia is a great place to enjoy all of Crete’s Mediterranean charms, from its rolling hills to its expansive olive groves to its ancient cities and small villages. If you’re interested in history, the ruins of the Minoan Palace and the archaeological site of Malia are just 2 kilometres from the hotel. The nearby village of Panagia Kera is also a great place to spend a day, with charming cobbled streets and impressive medieval churches.

Bungalow Garden View

Bungalow Garden View Cretan Eco Resort
These rooms (26 m²) have a furnished veranda or balcony and a king-size bed or 2 twin beds as well as a custom-made daybed made of trunks. They offer a lovely view to the hotel's lush gardens. A cot can be placed in the room free of charge. There are also other types of Bungalows available, with different views: pool view, pool front, side sea view and beach front.

Maximum occupancy: 2 adults, 1 child and 1 baby in a cot.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suite (34 m²) features an open-plan layout with a beautiful sitting area with two oversized divans. This area can be separated and if needed, the 2 sofas can convert to two beds for kids. The spacious bathroom features a marble sink, walk-in shower and black bathroom accessories. The hotel also features Junior Suites with Sea Front.

Deluxe Family Bungalow

The Deluxe Family Bungalow (42m²) features one room with a king size bed and a second, connecting room with a bunk bed and a built-in sofa bed. There is a master bathroom and a guest WC, both featuring showers. The views can differentiate from views over the gardens, pool views or views of the Aegean Sea (subject to availability).

Maximum occupancy: 2 adults and 3 children.

Two Bedroom Suite

These beautiful suites include a master bedroom that features a four poster king-size bed and an open-space bathroom, with a double vanity sink, bathtub and dressing area. In the second bedroom, there is a double bed and a large mural of cactus leaves, created by a Greek artist. The bright lounge area has a sofa-bed and custom-made furniture. The second bathroom features a marble sink, walk-in-shower and black bathroom accessories. The furnished balconies offer breathtaking sea views.

Crete's Orthodox Church with The Little Voyager

Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and has everything from delicious food to historic sites, charming villages and beautiful beaches like Balos and Elafonissi. The northern coasts of the island have more tourism facilities, while the southern coasts offer more peaceful, secluded environments.

Located on the southern side of the Aegean Sea, Crete’s history stretches back millennia, which visitors can learn more about at ancient sites like the Minoan Palace of Knossos in Heraklion, which is said to be the source of the myth of the labyrinth and the minotaur.

The western region of Chania is dominated by the high White Mountains, while the city of Chania is known for its Venetian architecture. Heraklion, the most densely populated part of the island, is known for its archeological treasure and great gastronomy scene. Rethymno is considered one of the island’s most beautiful regions, with stunning mountain landscapes dotted with small traditional villages, while Lasithi, to the east, is known for being home to the palm tree forest of Vaï and lots of luxurious resorts.

Little Explorers Kids Club

The hotel's Kids Club is a great space for children aged 3 to 10 to play and explore. It features a kitchen for cooking and baking activities, a playing and performance area for dance and theatre, as well as a playground and a small organic garden, for activities focused on nature and the environment. Babysitting services are also available.

Splash Time

The hotel features 3 different pools to relax and cool off: a main pool, a river pool and a splash pool for the youngest guests. The safe, sandy beach is also ideal for little swimmers.

Mini Disco

Every evening the hotel organises a mini disco for little (and not so little) guests from 20:30 till 21:00 (except Saturdays).

Cat Café

The Cat Café is a designated area for the care of local street cats. Clean water, food and shelter are provided for the four-legged friends. The resort also takes care of the sterilisation of the animals.

Teen Area

There is a separate area exclusively reserved for teenagers. This outdoor space features a large water tub and tall trees with hammocks; table tennis, billiards and darts. There are also daily-changing activities for older kids. In the evening, this area is used for family-friendly movie screenings (available three times a week).

The resort features a brand-new basketball half court, a tennis floodlit court and
the great spot to play beach volley. For the teens, there are also watersports available, such as SUP and canoe.

Cretaquarium

The Cretaquarium (or Thalassocosmos) is located near the town of Gournes. It feature species and ecosystems that are typical of the Mediterranean Sea. It is open 365 days a year 7 days a week, even during festive periods and holidays.

Dinosauria Park

Dinosauria Park Cretan Eco Resort
This museum features a rare and scarce collection of bones and fossils. Children will enjoy travelling through time to the heart of prehistory. The park is located about a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

Ein kleines Hotel, dass mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet ist. Mit einer zauberhaften Gartenanlage, in der man viele Pflanzen und Blumen entdecken kann. Das Personal ist so freundlich und herzlich, dass man sich gleich zu Hause fühlt. Egal was einem auf dem Herzen liegt, es wird versucht, es gleich umzusetzen. Soviel echte Herzlichkeit zu spüren, lässt den Urlaub nochmal erholsamer werden. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber fein und modern eingerichtet. Die Betten ausgesprochen bequem und die AC leise, so dass man gut schlafen kann. Es gibt abends Evens an der Lobby Bar, an denen man teilnehmen kann oder man verbringt einen romantischen Abend an der Strand Bar. Das Essen ist hervorragend, besonders das italienische Restaurant. An der Strand Bar kann man mittags kleine Snacks essen oder leckere Waffeln und Eis am Pool. Wenn man nicht aufpasst, hat man schnell ein paar Kilos mehr… Der Spa Bereich ist klein, die Massagen zwar gut, aber es fehlt das Drumherum. Das ist wegen Corona leider zu kurz gekommen, da keine Getränke ausgeschenkt werden dürfen. Für die Kinder ist allerhand Programm geboten, bis hinzu Kinoabend im Outdoor Bereich. Selbst wenn es nur 3 Kinder sind, wird auch dann das Programm geboten. Im Großen und Ganzen, ein toller Urlaub. Unser erstes Mal in Griechenland, aber definitiv nicht das letzte Mal. Danke an Ilonka für die tolle Organisation, hoffentlich bald wieder!"

We stayed in The Cretan Eco Resort, which had great family rooms in a half board basis. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and catered specially for children. The hotel is overlooking a gorgeous private Sandy beach. They have an entertainment program for children which includes kid club, movie nights, disco, etc, my children aged 8 and 5 were very excited and enjoyed throughly the program. We also liked the restaurants which were Italian and Cretan, the food is very high standard and they have the most friendly service. I fully recommend both the hotel were we stayed and TLV services."
