Founded in 1908, The South Tyrolean Art Nouveau Hotel has been a family run business for 4 generations now. The hotel has beautifully blended Alpine Art Nouveau touches with contemporary architecture, keeping its original building at the heart of the property, while expanding with modern facilities around it.
The hotel’s philosophy focuses on a strong sense of sustainability and taking care of the surrounding nature. The entire hotel, spa area, indoor and outdoor pool as well as the private homes of the owner’s family are supplied with clean energy from a bio-heating plant. Rainwater collectors and cisterns are used to water the tennis courts and gardens, and in the last few years the hotel has banned the use of plastic straws and bottles.
All of the hotel’s rooms are uniquely decorated, most of them fitted with original, carefully renovated furniture dating back to when the hotel was founded. Among other categories, the hotel offers ground-floor suites with small gardens, junior suites located in the park for extra peace and quiet, as well as penthouse suites with heavenly views.
The gourmet half board includes a scrumptious breakfast buffet with a variety of fresh fruits and regional specialities, as well as a 4- or 5- course gourmet dinner. Every Sunday it also includes a special cocktail hour followed by a gourmet gala dinner. In summer, the hotel organises weekly garden barbecues.
There is a diversified childcare programme 7 days a week, led by a qualified team of child carers. To make sure that parents can enjoy their dinner, every evening there is a supervised children’s dining table, with a delicious dinner designed for the little ones, followed by games and fun just before bedtime. The hotel also organises a weekly family hike with games in the surrounding woods and fields, with a hearty South Tyrolean picnic to end the day. There is also a petting zoo on the grounds, an adventure playground, a large toy car fleet and horse coaches available.
For rainy days, there are also plenty of indoor toys available, as well as an arts and crafts corner. Older children will enjoy the table football, table tennis, pinball and air hockey facilities available. They will also have fun in their own gym, with a small indoor hockey rink, a bowling alley and a climbing wall.
The state-of-the-art spa facilities include a hammam, an infinity pool, a panoramic sauna, a Finnish sauna, and two family saunas. Beauty treatments and massages can be booked additionally.
For those looking to be more active, the hotel’s gym offers free daily courses, such as Pilates or stretching. There are also tennis courts on the grounds and individual coaching sessions can be booked. Mountain bikes can be rented free of charge (e-bikes are available for an additional fee) and there are also organised hiking outings.

The Area
Located at an altitude of 1.200 meters, the South Tyrolean Art Nouveau Hotel is surrounded by unspoiled nature and hundreds of kilometres of hiking and biking trails. There is a cable car station just a few steps away from the hotel that connects the region to the South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano. This beautiful town is often described as a bridge between the north and the south, due to the convergence of Italian and German-Austrian roots, that can be seen reflected in the area’s local traditions, spoken languages and rich gastronomy.
