The South Tyrolean Nature Resort is a 5-star hotel located in the Dolomites that combines a fun family holiday with gourmet experiences, beautiful surrounding nature and many opportunities to relax. The resort is car-free, meaning that children can run around freely. Its idyllic location at the edge of a valley offers guests stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The property is an ideal destination for any time of year. In the winter, the hotels offers ski-courses, ski-equipment rental, and a shuttle service to the ski slopes that are only about 5 minutes away. For more experienced skiers, organised ski tours are also available. The natural lake on site becomes an ice-skating rink and the surrounding meadows are perfect for sledding.
During the warmer summer months the valley offers numerous family-friendly excursions, which are accessible on foot or by mountain bike. There are even buggy-friendly hikes, so everyone can join the fun! More adventurous families can go white-water river-rafting on one of the nearby rivers – guided tours for all skill levels are offered from June to September.
Not even rainy days can stop the fun at the South Tyrolean Nature Resort. There is a 400 m² hay barn for kids on site, with a hay-loft children can jump off of to land in the soft hay below. The facilities also include a bouldering wall with a climbing net, a large trampoline and a wall-labyrinth. In the costume room children can try on a large collection of hats, shoes and clothes for a fun afternoon indoors. Another great facility for younger guests is the 30 m² mud room, where kids will find tools and material to dig and build.
The 3.000 m² Mountain Spa is split over 4 stories and includes areas especially designed for families, with different pools to cater to all age groups as well as water park with a 100-meter slide. In the learning pool kids can play underwater memory games and improve their motor skills with an underwater obstacle course.
The hotel’s childcare philosophy is based on Maria Montessori principles, and provides a relaxed, creative environment for children to enjoy their holiday in the mountains to the fullest. Activities include walking to the waterfalls nearby, woodworking in the hotel’s workshop, archery, and picnics in the surrounding woods. The hotel offers age-appropriate programmes for babies, toddlers, children and teenagers.
Parents can enjoy their alone-time at the hotel’s fully equipped gym, relax in the adult-only areas of the Mountain Spa, or take a yoga class in the Yoga-Loft – all while enjoying breath-taking views of the valley and the majestic mountains beyond.
The hotel is also known for its exquisite cuisine made primarily with regional and seasonal products to create a blend of Mediterranean and Alpine delicacies. Supervised childcare is also available during dinnertime to allow parents to enjoy their meal and help kids wind down slowly to prepare for bedtime.

The Area
The property is located at 1.250 m above sea level, at the edge of a valley in the Dolomites, a mountain range located in north-eastern Italy that is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The region is a popular skiing destination in winter. In the warmer months the sports activities offered include mountain climbing, hiking and paragliding. The majestic peaks of the mountains provide stunning views all year around.
The lovely Italian towns of Merano, Bolzano and Trentino are all reachable by car in about 1 to 1.5 hours. You can also cross over to Austria and reach Innsbruck is less than one hour to do some sightseeing and enjoy typical Tyrolean cuisine, such as smoked sausages and hearty dumplings.
For those willing to spend a bit longer on the road, Verona is located about 2 hours south of the hotel. The city is well known for being the setting of one of the world’s most famous love stories, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
